Thompson's first birthday party! Some might say that this is silly and a waste of time, but the T man is my last and I want to go out with a bang!! There were a lot babies born after him and at the bottom of this post there is a picture of just a few of them - we were missing about 5.

This cake was an adventure! I drove for 4 hours to the wedding site!! There was only one issue and that was the bottom tiered decided to slide a little (lemon filling is slippery). The bride and groom were very pleased with it, the groom at half of it the bride told me. It was really fun to make!

We took a little family hike to a local area, called hidden falls, after one of Dawson's soccer games. The kids had a good time, they loved playing in the water! Maybe too much, the hike back they were a little grouchy about being wet and having to walk!

Every year before school starts my good friends rents out a camp ground to celebrate her kids birthdays. The kids had a great time playing with kids, eating yummy food, and playing in the little pond. (I am playing catch up with my blog - this was back in August!)

Disney world

Jeremy and I have been very lucky - for the second time in our married life we have gotten to go to Disney world! Thanks to Jeremy's work!! We really wish we could of taken the kids this time, but the price of plane tickets was just not workable, so they stayed with my mom for 10 days. Yes, I am an awful mother! but it was a well deserved break, I think. And I owe my mom big time! I think the best part of the trip was actually sleeping, no just kidding. The time I got to spend with my best friend and love of my life was the highlight!

I can't wait for next year!

They did a great job!

One of their mom's later told me that their daughter is constantly finding things to make roses out of and then eating them!

One of the things the kids really wanted to do this summer was decorate cupcakes - they all take after me:) But who doesn't like to like icing off your fingers and then devour a delicious cupcake?

This was the first time I made chocolate ganoch filled cupcakes - the kids loved them!

Maddy got this for Christmas and we finally used it - very fun and cool.

Fourth of July '10 (sorry a little late)

We spent the fouth of July this year in Modesto. Before we left we went to our ward's annual pancake breakfast and bike parade. The kids enjoyed decorating thier bikes this year! We went to the Modesto Nuts baseball game - it was a tied game so we had to sit through a couple extra innings to wait for the fireworks, the kids were so tired, but said it was worth it (Thompson was the only to fall asleep). Oh, and Dawson when we got to the game, he rode in the Webb's van, and we get there he says "mom where's my shoes?" - so Dawson spent the game with no shoes, that was fun!

On the actually fourth, which was on a Sunday, we had our own firework show on my parents street - the kids loved it - Thompson was very impressed!

Utah Trip!

What a great week! For some reason though I didn't take very many pictures - I think I was so focused on getting to relax and take a rest from the everyday grind. We had a great time! Thompson was fairly good on the drive there, on the way back was a different story (he was tired of the car!) We enjoyed activities with family - putt putt golf, swimming, Taylorsville days (fireworks), family pictures - Jeremy enjoyed golfing (Thanksgiving point) and I enjoyed shopping (Wood Connection). We went to Hatch Family Chocolates, a store that is on the TLC channel, "The Little Chocolatiers". We visited friends the Triplet's - thanks for the dessert - and the Rip's - thanks for the bounce house fun! And the most important thing we did was see our nephew, Jaren, get baptized. It was a great week!

Southern Cali Trip

We took a little trip down south - Jeremy had business in LA, so we all thought we would tag along, what a trip it turned out to be.

First up, the day before we leave Madison's school informs us that a few classmates have lice - wonderful! Well we go anyways and the drive down was nice Thompson did good for his first fairly long drive. We hit the beach when we got there and we all have a nice time, except Thompson isn't eating much and that night all he wanted to do was nurse every hour - not sleeping good. Jeremy goes off to work the next day, the kids and I have a nice time shopping and swimming, little T is still not eating much and I see white spots in his mouth, it took me until that evening when it dawns of me "thrush"! None of kids have ever had this, but I know that I had as a baby (and so did Jeremy). Called Kaiser and they hook us up with medicine, the only problem was sterlizing bottles and such - the whole trip was a challenge, but well worth it!

Disneyland was so fun! My Mom and Dad met us there and we only did a one day marathon and the kids absolutly loved it! They want to go back soon.

My bestest (old) neighbors in the world came to visit us from Utah. (Thompson, Jackson, Dawson, Maddy, Sarah and Aiden.)
Me and Debbie - I truly miss living right next door to someone I would completely trust if I needed something and just to hang out and talk too - it was at a time of very young kids and the beginnings of learning that little word "patience". Thanks Debbie it was fun!

Caden's Birthday cake - a lego joker. Notice I didn't put it at the top of the page - not a easy cake to make. It didn't turn out too bad, but it could of been better.

2010 Mother's day treated me nice! I had a great week of Mother's day programs and on the actual day I was treated like a queen. First up Jackson had his program, the kids read Brown Bear Brown Bear and Jackson was the white dog and they sang the cutest songs (I will get a video uploaded in here soon). Dawson's program was very well put together too. (Again video!)

Teacher Appreciation Gift

This year I wanted to do something for my kids teachers and I found this on a website. It's a medicine container and each day of the week has a special something.

Dawson's Pizza Field Trip

Were did April go? - and part of May - wow my life has been a little busy and my housework shows it, man what a mess!

Now for a little catching up! Easter was busy but fun. Jeremy's Brothers and Parents came out for Spring Break and Easter just happen to land on that time. We kept busy with going to the zoo, San Fransisco, baseball game, shopping, playing with cousins, and all the Easter Fun!
And the following week we celebrated Easter and Jackson's birthday at my parents house. My parents got a new puppy, Bella, and the kids are loving her - Jessi is a little jealous, but she is copping.

The Living History Museum

A "little house in the prairie". The third graders get to go on this fun field trip to the Living History Museum. They get to be performers for the museum and learn all the ways of the olden days. I got to be there and Thompson came along - we had a great day!

St. Patty's Day!

Happy St. Patty's Day! Aren't these cupcake fun - the kids were so excited to eat these.

This year this kids decided the night before they were going to set a trap for a Leprechaun. I told them that if they did that he would come in and make a big mess. I wish I took a picture of the trap - they used fake coins to lure him in, and I said he isn't going to happy that you are tricking him. Well the next morning we didn't catch one but he made a mess in our playroom and turned our milk green! The kids loved it!

He was a happy boy that day even though we went to the doctor for a little check up. I thought he maybe had an ear infection and his eyes weren't looking to great too. Thank heaven no ear infection just a cold and an eye infection. He handled eye drops very well, I think he kinda liked it.

Patience

Thompson has turned four months old! (he is four months in this picture) I call him my high maintenance baby. Just when you think that you are a professional mother having gone through it three time before, T had to come along and teach me more about being a mother. "Patience" - what is patience? Well let me tell you I have learned a variety of patience with all four of my children. I almost feel though as if Heavenly Father saved the best for last - Thompson the true test to see how patient I really am. (I think I am failing)

Madison = I learned that children like to be scheduled and know what is coming next. -Be patient

Dawson = Don't rush me or I will get frustrated and not want to do the things you want me to do. - Be patient

Jackson = Take time to hold me and play with all the imagination you got. - Be patient

Thompson = he has only been on the earth for four months and already I have learned the "patience" test over and over again. Sleeping, eating, running errands with him, doing household chores, homework with older kiddos, making meals, - he is a toughie and on top of it all Jeremy has his busy season right now and about 95% of the time I feel like a single parent. Now I don't want anyone reading this thinking that I love him a little less than my other kids - he is such a blessing to me and when I see his smile and his eyes light up when he sees me, I know he was sent to me for a reason. Wow it is great to be a mother and actually be a part of raising someone who will do great things in their lives - I know my kids will do GREAT things!

Now go hug your kids!

This is it - my cute post! Can you guess who is who? These are all four of my babies when they were two months old. All four of them loved bath time and were soooo happy to get the stinky clothes off for the day and start a fresh for their all night sleep (HA)!

Super Bowl/Valentine's Day

We were disappointed that the Colts did not win the Super Bowl:( We had a great time at my parents house though, with lots of good stuff to eat and cousins to play with!

Maybe this Seahawk outfit jinxed the whole thing!Valentine's is here and again I have booked myself with many holiday projects. Being the Relief Society Committee leader the February meeting was on "Love" the language of love, I can't remember the name of the author of the book. We had a lesson on how we all love differently and then we learned how to make cupcake pops and these cute Valentine cones (mine not so cute, but some gals made some pretty impressive stuff). It was a fun evening - we had about 75 women come - I wish I took pictures, I had my camera there, but it was hard juggling teaching the pops and Thompson.

I made these cones for Madison and Dawson's teachers. That one little cupcake pop was one of over 300 made! Yes I had my second annual girls night in make your own cupcake pops. I baked 5 cakes and balled over 300 for everyone to make their desired amount. All day Wednesday I had women come over and shape, dip, and sprinkle their pops - I was so impressed and had a lot of fun - and once again my kitchen has cute sprinkles all over! (sorry no pictures too - Thompson was up partying with the ladies, so I was busy taking care of him)

I made cupcakes for her class (she has a boy in her class that has a peanut allergery, so I made a box cake and frosting) - I got to the school had the boys in the stroller, picked up the tupperware box of cupcakes and splat the bottom came out and cupcake mess all over the sidewalk - so for some reason I was not bring cupcakes to Madison's party. Maddy was a little bit disappointed, but really they didn't have time to eat cupcakes at the party anyways - so everything was good!

Dawson! I brought a fun number bingo to his party - the other room mom was a big help and headed up this party!

Last but not least, I helped a Young Women in our ward with a wedding cake for her Mom's wedding. She helped with the roses, smoothing the fondant and the ribbon. She was very proud.

Wedding Cake Challenge

This last Monday I get a call from this gal who has a daughter who is getting married and her daughter's friend suggested me to do her wedding cake. The mother didn't really have an idea to who the friend was and she probably thought I was crazy because I really wanted to know where my name was being spread (I found out later when I talked to the bride). Anyways the mother said they needed the cake by this Saturday, so the nice person I am I took on the challenge. It was even more of a challenge when the bride said, "just do what ever you want, I have seen your work and I trust you" - here again I think the bride thought I was crazy because I was laughing on the phone, a very nervous laugh. I always thought the bride has the cake design in there heads - but then again this was a quick wedding and a second marriage, so maybe she just didn't care. Everything worked and they loved the cake! (she did tell me that she wanted two layers and square - and with a little help from Martha Stuart this was my creation)

I was able to hit up all the Christmas parties at the kids schools - I love going to them and not missing a thing of their lives. You only have one Kindergarten Christmas party and one 3rd grade party (lets hope, JK). I hope that my kids always remember that I was there and helps them know, just a little bit, that I love them (actually I would give my life for them).
Dawson had a Christmas program and he did such a good job singing and doing the hand motions. I was so proud! He didn't show one ounce of stage freight - big difference with him and Maddy. Jackson too had a little program and I know he knew the songs but he was a little nervous, as with the other kids, and he just did the motions - so cute!

Royal Reader

In the Kindergarten class they have what is called the Royal Reader and Jeremy loves to do this. He read to Madison's class when she was in Kindergarten - so when he was on paternity leave he got the read to Dawson's class! Let just say he got the "Royal" treatment! Lots of fun!

I cannot believe that I have a nine year old - time has really flown with this beautiful little girl. I still remember like it was yesterday when it was just the three of us and now it has grown to the six of us - crazy!

She is really gonna love me when she sees I put this picture in here - this is what she looks like when she has to be woken up in the morning to get ready for 8:30am church. So beautiful!

I'm back! The month of December is my busiest month, as I am sure it is for everyone. I sometimes feel I never get a breather or a moment to take in the holiday season, and this year WOW what a whirl wind! Lets begin with Thanksgiving. . . . .

Thanksgiving was at our house this year and we also Blessed our Thompson. Jeremy's family came and my family came it was an event. I am proud to say that my kitchen is suitable for a big feast, feeding 21 people and we were all able to sit in the dining room/living room.

Thompson was a very good boy when he was blessed - out of all my kids I thought he would be the one to let out some cries. (I have been lucky-none of my kids have cried during their blessings) My mom helped pick out his outfit and she made the handsome booties and afghan - he was very cute!

October Fun!

October is such a busy and very fun month! I was lucky to have been a part of almost everything I wanted to do while having a baby. I was able to go to Jackson's field trip to the pumpkin patch, and then two days after having the baby my mom and I drove over to Dawson's first Kindergarten - riding a big yellow bus - field trip to the pumpkin patch (he was a little disappointed that I wasn't going with him the entire time), all the parents thought I was crazy, but I only stayed to get a few pictures and then I was out of there. I went and passed out candy at our church's trunk or treat, Thompson stayed in the car and I only allowed people to peek in the car. I helped at Jackson's Halloween party, attended Madison's for a little while and again helped out in Dawson's class party (I signed up to be the room mom - I am crazy!) I feel great and I am so happy about that. Thompson is a good baby, I had his two week appointment last week and he is now 9lbs. 6ozs. and the doctor thought he was very angelic! He is a very healthy boy - no jaundice or anything. He sleeps good at night and really that is all I could ever wish for!

The kids dressed up as Halloween characters this year. Madison was a witch, Dawson was a warewolf, Jackson was Frankenstien, and Thompson was a pumpkin. My mom did a wonderful job with all of them!

Well the next exciting event that happen the week of Thompson's birth was Dawson made his first goal at his soccer game! And of course I wasn't there, because I stayed home with the baby, I am very glad Jeremy got the video of it! He is number 10/white.

I am finally getting a chance to get on here and blog my delivery experience! I don't have a lot of time on my hands, in fact I think I need more hands and while I am at it just more of me to go around. Wow, it has been a whirl wind of fun and excitement!

On October 7th my doctor told me that I was moving along great and she basically told me it could be any day really - key word "day". I was having contractions every now and then, but nothing that could really be timed. I thought for sure the baby would be born the 10th, because the doctor had stripped my membranes and usually it has taken me two to three days to really start laboring. Well the 10th had passed, my mom came up to await the arrival and we thought for sure it would be the 14th, because I had another doctor's appointment that day and she again stripped my membranes and told me I was dilated to a three and 70 percent effaced. Well that day passed and so did the weekend! Finally Tuesday morning, the 20th, I had contractions 8-11 minutes apart and I said I am going in! (one day before my due date)

We got to the hospital and they hooked me up and the doctor on call came in and basically told me I was not in full labor yet and she gave me two options - I could either go home and wait till I was in full labor or they could pump me with antibiotics (for Strep B), break my water and get me going. I chose to get it done! After being very uncomfortable for about three weeks I was glad this doctor gave me this option.

At 2pm they broke my "bag of waters", at about 4ish I was about dialated to a seven and the nurse that checked me said that she thinks the baby was face up (that was not good news). When she left Jeremy gave me a blessing and after that the contractions really picked up and I was panicing thinking to my self this is going to hurt if this baby doesn't turn and maybe this time I should get an epidural. I was on my side and all the sudden my intire body became tingling and I couldn't seem to control it and was asking for more pain medicine - well the nurse was almost ready to check my progress to see if she could give me more medicine and all the sudden I said I need to lay on my back and as I was rolling on to my back I said I gotta push! The nurse was telling me "no, don't push, just breath" and I wasn't even pushing really and he was coming out! So I guess a mid wife came in and she was catching the baby while the doctor was getting all ready to step in and the mid wife said to me push and I remember saying but I am not having a contration and then the mid wife, my mom and Jeremy all said "no you need to push now" and out he came at 5:52pm! I could not believe how fast he came! Pushing is my least favorite part and this time it was awesome! The doctor was glad that she at least got to deliver the placenta.

I am reaching the final days or weeks maybe to this pregnancy and I thought I would blog how this pregnancy was in relation to the other three. First of all I got professional pictures done because when I was pregnant with Madison and actually saw a picture of myself I said no more pictures of me pregnant - I did not feel pretty! With Dawson I have one pregnancy picture and that was at Halloween all dressed up for a shot gun wedding, and I do not have any pictures of me pregnant with Jackson (that is a good thing, because I gained the most weight with him). So I thought it would be fun to get them professionally done and have the photographer tell me how to pose - she did a great job (Cathi Bitter).
Since I am thinking this is my last pregnancy I truly wanted to enjoy every minute and take it all in, but so many new feelings came with this pregnancy that I was taken for surprise. The first trimester I never knew what to eat and actually was happier eating nothing - having nothing to disturb my stomach. I never threw up - yeah! - but with the other pregnancy I was happy to have a cracker or two in my tummy. And the mood swings - my poor family - one minute I am loving and caring and the next I am telling the kids that we live in a dump "pick up your stuff!" I was tired with each pregnancy, but I feel that I accomplished a lot with the first three, like for example when we moved to Rocklin and found out two days later that I was pregnant with Jackson I painted three bedrooms and basically made the house into "our" home. I was too tired and achy to do anything this time. I know that some of you are reading this and saying "whatever Heather" taking care of three kids, a husband, a dog, taught clogging, a household, church calling, and whatever else - I still feel as though I could of felt better than I did.
The second trimester should of been full of great food cravings and eating just about anything - all I wanted to eat was fruit, nice cold fruit. O.K. this wasn't a bad thing - but where were the protein cravings, the burgers and milk shakes - I actually stopped and got a milk shake one time and basically had to gag it down and I didn't feel good at all after eating it. Thank heaven for the Taco Bell fruit drinks - fruitesia - yum! (but full of sugar) Right at the end of the second trimester I had to take my wedding ring off - I began to swell in my hands and ankles. I just figured it was the summer heat and I was thankful for friends with pools and took full advantage every time I got the chance to soak my feet and hands. With the others I would swell at about two weeks before my due date, if at all.
This last trimester has gotten a little better when it comes to food (except for the heart burn of course), but the body aches and pains have really gotten on my last nerve. Last month I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel - my left wrist has a sharp pain and I cannot close my hand to make a fist without the joints in my fingers locking and in my right hand my fingers are constantly tingling like they are asleep. One of my friends has really noticed how fat my fingers are and Jeremy has noticed that they feel different when I hold his hand, so I call them my hot dog fingers! I hope I don't jinks myself, but there has been one lucky thing and that is I have not had any kidney stones. I had them with Madison when I was in my 18th week, Dawson was my 10th week, and Jackson I was in my 8th Month. So I either will be really lucky and not get them for the this pregnancy or they are just waiting to come out after the pregnancy - it is like a ticking time bomb to me - they are NOT fun. I can honestly say that sleeping has been the same with each pregnancy, I get all big and uncomfortable to get any kind of a good night sleep.
But with all the complaints comes the over whelming joy of having a beautiful baby in my arms and in our home again. I can't wait! A year ago at this time I wasn't sure if a number 4 was in our future. I second guessed the thought after going through a miscarriage (second one in my life), and on top of that I was attending my Nana's funeral - not a easy time for me. I felt that the pregnancy was a great thing to a time of sadness and when I loss the baby I thought to myself maybe I can only handle three kids - Jeremy was a strength and told me he wants another little girl - to bad it's a little boy! I am very excited to be a mother of three boys - I know that through my life's experiences I can teach them the ropes of how to treat the ladies! And Jeremy will teach them how to be great supports to their own families. Madison I don't worry about - girls already have a built in nurturing system.

Soccer!!!!

Soccer games started last Saturday and this top picture was the only one I got of the first game. I was totally ready to take some great pics of Dawson's first sporting game and he only did the warm up and cried and complained the entire game. Most of the conversation between the two of us was negotiation of what I can give or take away from him to get him out on the field. Well he got a week of no XBOX.
Today went totally better! He play and cooperated the entire game. He got to play goally first and he did an excellent job - the other team tried but no goal for them!

They were at the other side of the field most of the time, so he had good time just hanging out!

He counted each and every time he kicked the ball. He would kick and then hold the amount on his fingers up in the air - he was very proud of himself and I was very proud of him. I really enjoyed watching him. (he is the #10 white jersey)

Here are the cheerleaders - even though they were off playing somewhere together. Almost all of Madison's friends play soccer, she never wanted to play and I am glad about that - she does a great job playing basketball!

This is a gingerbread man that Dawson made at school - he let me know that he did not want to eat it.

This was a birthday cake that Maddy made at her activity days - I am very proud of her and she also was very excited to show me her work.

I have been busy this month with getting used to the back to school schedule and my church calling. I was in charge of a "Super Friday" craft night on the 11th. A night filled with crafts and chatting with women. I would put pictures of the crafts but some of them are Christmas presents to family members! The night went well and I am very glad that it is over!

Rock Concert!

We had a little party for the joy in our lives - Jessi! (her birthday is September 1st) It was difficult getting a picture of her - she wasn't cooperating very well, I think she thought it was weird that we put her on the counter top and was feeding her human food.

This was a different day. Everytime Jeremy goes out of town there is always a few things that happen to me while he is gone - Jackson got a 24 hour flu and well Jessi had a mud bath.

First Day of School!

I broke a little tradition, and I kind of got burned for it. I usually make a school bus cake with donut wheels for the kids for our family back to school party, but because of my pregnancy I didn't want cake! So I made these sugar cookies with jelly in the middle. Dawson put in his order next year - he would rather have the cake.
Madison is going to be in 3rd grade! She is so excited to learn cursive (now she will be able to read everything I write!).
My Dawson will be in Kindergarten!

And my little Jackson will be in 3 year old Preschoo! (He started on his cookie before I could get a picture.)

We are ready!

Madison the morning of the first day of school. She has a great teacher this year and her good friend is in her class, again (Kindergarten - now they have been in the same class), oh, and Jimmy is her class - cute boy! She is ready!

Oh, my Dawson - I have had a little worry with him about school, but he is really surprising - thus far - and has had a great first two days of school (Preschool was a little rough for him to go and partake in activities). When I registered him I tried to get him in a class with some friends he knows, so the transition was a little easier. But he was in a class of boys he doesn't know - I tried to get him switched, letting the principle know that I was 7th in line to the request I wanted, but he was not helpful to me at all (and actually made me feel a little less of a good mother). Dawson does not know what I was trying to do and he is really enjoying going to school, and my hope is that it will continue all the way up to graduation! He told me this morning "Mom, I am glad that I go to school after lunch, because then I miss quiet time, I don't like quiet time".

Jackson so wants to be a part of this so he too got a picture! Oh, and I have not blogged that fact that he broke his foot. Last Wednesday Jeremy took him and Madison to a work BBQ, while I took Dawson to Soccer practice (which he loves), and so when I got over to the BBQ Jeremy handed me a wounded Jackson and said he fell off a 7 foot playground structure and is limping. So we got home I called the doctor and he said bring him in! The emergency room could not tell really if it was broken and put him in a splint and said that he will see a podiatrist, so lucky we got to see a friend who is a foot doctor and he told us that he broke the hardest bone to break in the foot - it is just under the little toe on his foot. So, he gets to wear a boot for hopefully just six weeks. I call him "boot man"!

King Tut

The Larsen's, the Webb's, and the Robinson's took a trip to San Fran. to see the King Tut exhibit. We had a great day! First we had a picnic at the park, then we saw the exhibit - which was really cool, I have always said that my one place that I would like to see is Egypt! Then we went to Giradelli Square and had ice cream, and then we went down to the wharf and went to a boat museum - the kids love it! We were pretty worn out by the end of the day.

Clogging Camp

I did it! I taught a clogging camp almost seven months pregnant. I had eight beautiful girls in the class and they really clogged their hearts out. I was so proud of them - they learned an over three minute routine in 4 days. They danced to Michael Jackson's PYT. Madison had a great time and every morning was excited to get on her shoes and dance! It was a lot of fun! (Excuse my messy garage - I was going to organize it before the camp, but my motivation for the cleaning was never there.)

Baby Boom

You would not believe the baby rush that is going on all around me. I have been busy making hoody towels for all my friends and family - and afghan's for cousins. (The picture above went to my cousin, Kristen, who is having her first baby very soon!) I have counted 14 pregnant ladies in my life - it includes sister-in-law, cousins, good out of state friends, and good friends here. In my church alone 12 ladies with child! (I am third in line to give birth.)

Dish Cloths

Our Church's Humanitarian group needs about 300 dish CLOTHS (I was reminded by one of the gals that they are not dish rags, but cloths - we gave her a hard time about it!) So I started a crochet/knitting group and we started making some. There are a lot of women out there that crochet/knit and it was really fun finding out projects that they were working on, and I found some more stuff for me to do - just what I needed right!

This summer I came down on the kids and gave them chore charts. They love it! I always feel that summer gets so busy and we never have time to do a little school work, and I feel that it was time to teach Madison and Dawson how to clean a few places in the house. Well, let me tell you it worked! The other day I was cleaning my house for a ladies knit/crochet night and my wonderful daughter saw me on my hands and knees (heavy with child) scrubbing the kitchen floor and she asks "mom can I do that?" Without hesitation I handed her the sponge! She also helped with a few other big jobs. She is getting so big and helpful. She is excited for the baby but she also is still a little disappointed that she isn't getting a sister. She asked me the other day "when do I get a sister? Does Heavenly Father just want me mad?" I had to explain to her that "daddy never had a sister and Uncle Jack never had a brother - when Dawson, Jackson, and this baby get married then you will have your sisters".

Purse Pool Party!

O.K. so my new calling in my church is the Enrichment Leader (I am in charge of planning activities and mini - lessons for the women in our ward), I have a great committee! So my first big activity was the Summer Pool Social and we decided to do a "Purse" Theme. We had a purse fashion show "The Purses of our Lives" and we played a purse game. And of course we had yummy salads and root beer floats. It went very well and the turn out was great - about 40 women! I of course forgot my camera for the evening, I really wish I had for the game we played.

Fouth of July Vacation '09

We had a great summer vacation in Utah - full of swimming, mini-golfing, roasting hot dogs and marshmellows in the canyon, firework shows, shopping, golfing, playing with cousins - Jeremy's brother's kids (Jaren, Maya, Karli, and Kate) and my brother's boys (Corban and Gabe), and visiting friends. We were busy every moment of each day, all of us were very worn out.
There were so many stories from the week I don't know where to begin. My brother Jack and his wife Amanda had us over for dinner one evening and the kids had such a great time playing with Corban and I had a great time holding little Gabe - what a good baby! The kids are professional mini golfers - we went twice - Jackson loves the game of golf, we call him the next "Tiger". The night we went up to the Canyon to have dinner, Madison gave us a nice scare. She was a little worn out and hungry and she passed out at the dinner table - she just needed a little food in her and she was better. All seven of the kids loved swimming! And of course Uncle Laren put on an awesome firework show. The kids love to visit Grandma and Grandpa's house.

2 San Fran Trips, Father's Day and an early B-day Cake

For our anniversary this year we took off for the weekend to San Francisco - just the two of us and enjoy life as a married couple! We had a yummy meal at a Italian Restaurant, went shopping at the Jewelery mart - it is our 10 year "diamond" - and upgraded my wedding ring, toured Alcatraz, went shopping on pier 39, had a ice cream sundae at Girradelli, and of course saw the sea lions!We took an Alcatraz tour for the first time and really enjoyed it. It was a beautiful day!

Jeremy had a training in San Francisco, so we packed up the kids and played in San Fran for a couple of days! All the kids wanted to do was swim at the Hotel. I did take them shopping for a little while.Father's day we celebrated Jeremy's Birthday a little early. We will be in Utah for his Birthday and he wanted me to make this cake for him there, but I thought it would a lot less stressful if I did it in my own kitchen. It is supposed to be the gopher off of "Caddyshack".

This is one of my students that tried out for her school talent show. I think she said about 40 students tried out and she was one of about 12 or 14 people that made it in the show. She is very talented and has a great time dancing!

"Upstage"!

I had a great time choreographing this number. It is fun to have boy cloggers - even though half the time they are creative and make up their own moves (and don't pay much attention)! I taught these 14 dancers this dance in 4 one hour lessons. (excuse the perfectionist in me - I made a few comments to Jeremy while video taping the dance:). I tried to download the entire 3 minutes, but no such luck - so I cut out the middle section.

Today Jeremy and I have been married for 10 years! He said to me this morning "best 10 years of my life" and I have to agree! He is my best friend and I love knowing that he is there for me and the kids. I love you babe! Happy 10 years and many more to come.

Schools Out For Summer!

Madison is done with 2nd grade:( She truly has grown into a beautiful girl and I am very proud of her and what she has accomplished. This year she graduated from Speech. After five years of working with her to come out of her little talking spell - she has finally done it! Ever since the age of 3 when she wouldn't say but two words to me - now the questions fly! And I am thankful for her friends - I was told that she would be looked at as different by her peers and probably wouldn't make any friends - she has never come home and said that someone has made fun of her or teased her (I have continually dreaded for that day, but it has never happened). She is still very shy and does get nervous to what people think of her when she does have to stand in front of the class for an oral report or is the center of attention - but then so do I! I asked her what her favorite thing was this school year and she said "Art Technique" - she has become a very creative little artist!

As the classroom mom I was asked to plan the end of the year party and so the first picture shows all the stuff I put together for the party. They played two games: sound charades and fox and socks game (balancing the boxes - they were the puppy class so I decorated the boxes with puppies), they each got a dog tag with their very own puppy name (Madison's name was Mittsy), for the class gift I put together a recipe book for the two teachers (I ask the students to write down on a 3by5 card their favorite recipes), Madison gave the teachers a dog bowl of cake cups, and the class had hot dogs for their treat!
Last day of school! We are doing the 3D chalk - it kinda worked - the kids had a great time (and so did mom and dad)!

Double Cake Challenge Weekend!

I double booked myself this weekend and made two cakes for families. My first order was another sixteen year old cake - this time a boy. His step-mom told me he doesn't like cake, but he needs something for his birthday. So we decided to make a small cake - at first she wanted a skateboard, but then we changed it to a half pipe. This cake is not all cake! I cheated and used about a 2inch cake on the bottom and the top is rice krispy treats (a lot easier to form).
When I dropped it off I was lucky to catch the birthday boy there and the look on his face was all good - I was worried that it wouldn't be up to par to a real skater.

Now this challenge was a challenge! This cake was for a little girl turning 10 years old. And she had drawn a picture that she wanted the cake to look like (the grey piece of paper has the picture she drew). Her theme was obviously Hawaiian and she wanted a Hula girl cake. I was nervous making this cake because I didn't want to upset the Birthday girl and not have it like the picture - you know how we girls are! It was fun to make and now Madison has a new idea for her cake this year - she already drew a picture of a zebra for her cake.

Young Womens Temple Box Activity

The Laurels had a great activity planned for all the Young Women, ages 12-18. The girls made temple boxes to open when they become engaged and ready to enter into the temple. This is the wedding cake I was asked to make as a refreshment, I got the idea from my Martha Stewart Cake book, I had a ton of fun making this!
I chose the color purple - I didn't realize they were using orange. Two very bright colors!

Some of the Leaders brought in their wedding dresses and picture to display - they had a great time poking fun at us!

No More Diapers - Until October

After about four months of Potty Training Jackson finally gets it! I tried many methods with this little boy and the one thing that worked was I put two cups in the bathroom and told him he could get his own treat after he did his business - this I think helped him feel a little more independent, because he wasn't waiting for Mommy to get him a treat he was doing it all by himself. He also learned how to read! "This is Jackson's Pee Pee Cup and this is Jackson's Poo Poo cup". Ahh so proud! Just in time for his three year old check up.

Mother's Day

I had a great mother's day. The kids and Jeremy got up really early and made me breakfast in bed and surprised me with a new Camera. Now I can finally put videos on my blog!

At Church Jeremy had to talk and he said some wonderful words about me- and sort of made me realize that I am too busy and I need to maybe cut some things out of my life. I did get released from Young Womens (very sad), and then was called as the Relief Society Enrichment Leader - almost equal to what I was just doing, now I have to work with all of us old ladies!

We then headed down to my sister's house in Lodi and the men made us a lovely dinner and we celebrated my nephew, Caden, Birthday!

Dawson had is Mother's Day program at his school. He did a great job singing and smiling. (He did get a hair cut the following week!)

Late Night Party!

Madison had her first late night party. Her really good friend Danalyn had a really cool birthday party. The girls got to jump on the tramp, eat pizza, play balloon volleyball,
make balloon flip flops, play more games, and then make ice cream sundaes. I offered my help to her mom because every time she called for an opinion on the party she seemed a little frazzled, but the main reason why I was there was to watch Maddy have a good time with all her friends (she is my only girl!?) She did a great job staying up till 10pm - if anyone knows Madison she counts the hours of sleep and sometimes freaks out if she doesn't think she has enough hours of sleep.

Field Trip to the Puzzle People

Madison's Puppy Class went to the Puzzle People for a school field trip. It was really neat to listen and learn about a couple that started their own business making puzzles. They showed us how they make the puzzles and then the kids got to paint and make a name plate to take home. I could not leave the store without buying some puzzles myself (I will take a picture of them and add them to this post).

Dawson had his field trip on the same day as Madison's - so because I couldn't be in two places at one time, my loving husband took a half day from work and took the boys to the Folsom Zoo. And because I had the camera he took these snap shots with his cell phone.

New Life

Spring has sprung! If anyone knows me really well, they will know that Spring is my favorite season. I love it when the weather gets a little warmer and beautiful flowers begin to bloom. I love to decorate my house with Easter things. Bunnies are my favorite animals. The colors are just awesome - purples, yellows, baby blues, pinks, soft greens. Even the kids are little happier cause they get to go play outside a little more often.
Speaking of kids - most of you already know, but I have not made my big announcement in the blogging world. We are expecting number four (the final four, as I say!) The ultrasound picture was taken at 8weeks along and I am now 13 weeks along - almost over the hump of the first trimester. I have to say that I think this was my worst first trimester of all my pregnancies (Jeremy would say every pregnancy was the same - I just forgot - he says if I didn't forget I wouldn't have anymore kids.), I am hoping for some bursts of energy soon.

His birthday fell on Conference Sunday, so we had breakfast in Mom and Dad's room - the kids thought it was great (I think it was our second time doing it).

His Sully cake - he loves Monsters Inc. I looked all over for a Sully figurine - I should of thought about it in advance and shopped on eBay. His favorite color is blue, but after seeing this cake it is now purple.

We died Easter Eggs.

The Boys absolutely love characters in costume! Dawson made sure he was next to me and not the bunny - Jackson, wow, first time for everything.Sweet Brothers.

There were 4 preschool classes there - so about 60 kids and their siblings - it is a great sight to see!
